Community Building
I am the founder of Capital Science Communicators (@CapSciComm), a network for greater Sacramento students and professionals in journalism, public relations, creative, policy, outreach, and research. Since 2013, CapSciComm has cultivated a vibrant regional community — and the current network leaders continue to foster career advancement through networking events and member engagement.
I am also the co-founder of the Congress of Regional Science Writers Groups (#SciWriCongress). The consortium unites independent local professional networks serving science communicators — such as CapSciComm, DCSWA, SCONC, SciWriRockies, and more — through knowledge sharing and collaboration resources for their administrators and group leaders.
